02What this actually is

stillpoint is a two-hour live ritual: guided breathwork, live sound, and long, protected stillness in a dark room with fifty-odd other people.

It is not a class, a concert, or a therapy session. Nobody watches you. You lie on the floor, you're guided through five portals — Root, Breathe, Feel, Release, Land — and you leave with your nervous system in a different place than you arrived.

If you have never done breath or sound work, this is a good first room. Everything is guided out loud, step by step, and you can stop at any point.

03What to expect

Sound

Live gongs, crystal alchemy bowls, and handpan — loud enough to feel in your chest, never painful. Earplugs are available at the door.

The floor

You spend most of the evening lying down in a nest of mat, bolster, and blanket. Chairs are available.

Duration

Two hours, doors twenty minutes prior.

Temperature

Kept warm, around 74°F. Bodies cool quickly during long stillness, so bring a layer.

Emotion

Tears, laughter, shaking, and deep sleep all happen in these rooms. All of it is welcome and none of it is required.

04Your guides

Co-founders

Christine Grace & Ben Brown

Christine and Ben are the co-founders of stillpoint. Christine guides sound, breath, and embodied awareness; Ben brings two decades of bodywork and vibrational practice. Together they hold the room — not as performers, but as guides in a shared return to stillness.

05The evening
  1. 6:40 PM

    Arrival

Doors open. Choose your nest on the floor and get settled.

  2. 7:00 PM

    Root

Grounding, orientation, and a slow arrival into the body. Nothing strenuous.

  3. 7:20 PM

    Breathe

Guided active breathwork over live sound — the longest and most physical portal.

  4. 7:55 PM

    Feel

Sensation without narration. Gongs enter. You stay horizontal.

  5. 8:25 PM

    Release

Sound bath at full depth: gongs, crystal bowls, handpan, voice.

  6. 8:45 PM

    Land

Integration, silence, tea, and a soft re-entry into the street.

  7. 9:00 PM

    Close

Room closes. Linger as long as you need.

06How to prepare

Wear

Soft, warm layers you can lie down in for two hours. No belts or stiff waistbands. PJs welcome.

Eat

Light food two to three hours before. A full stomach makes active breathwork uncomfortable.

Arrive

Doors open twenty minutes before start. Arriving early gives you the pick of the room.

Late policy

Once the first portal begins the door closes to protect the room. Please arrive before start time.

Phones

Silenced and away for the full session. There is a basket at the door.

09Questions
How early should I get to Souk Studio?
Doors open at 6:40 PM. Arriving right at doors gives you the best choice of spot in the room.
Is there parking?
Street parking is limited. Public transit or rideshare is strongly recommended for this venue.
What should I bring?
Yourself, comfortable layers, and a water bottle. Mats, bolsters, and blankets are provided, though you're welcome to bring your own blanket or pillow if that helps you rest.
What actually happens in the room?
Roughly two hours of guided breathwork, live sound (gongs, handpan, crystal bowls), and long stretches of stillness. You stay on the floor most of the evening. Nothing is performed at you and nothing is required of you.
Do I need any experience?
No. Most people in the room have never done breath or sound work before. Everything is guided step by step, and you can opt out of any portion at any time.
Is the space accessible?
Venues are selected for step-free access wherever possible, and chairs are available if lying on the floor doesn't work for your body. Email info@iamthestillpoint.com with any access need and we'll arrange it in advance.
What's the refund policy?
Tickets are transferable to another person up to 24 hours before the event. Refunds are available up to 7 days before the event date through Eventbrite.
